Fairburn Agate FA5
Fairburn Agate with no matrix -- all agate and wild patterns. Red, pink, orange,
peach, white, black, yellow and even yellow-green. This agate was part of a collection
I acquired several years ago. It was dusty and grimy and I honestly hardly spared
it a glance. When I finally cleaned it up, WOW. The agate has probably been
tumble-polished and appears to have been treated with opticon. Lots of the old-time
lapidaries did an opticon treatment before cutting into a Fairburn. Guess I'm
glad they stopped before cutting! Agate weighs 5.8 ounces. $125
